Since 1938, Louisa Rotary has sought to help our community's children. Child literacy, health, and physical well being are among the most recent service projects that continue to be carried on in Louisa.
Louisa Rotarians recently provided dictionaries to every 3rd Grade student in Louisa County. The dictionary project was so warmly received by the Louisa School System and home schooled students that the project will be expanded to include 4th and 5th Graders as well. The dictionary project was made possible through a matching grant from Rotary International. Our club is seeking future partners to help us continue this project.
Child health and physical well being have received attention as well through the 70 year life of Rotary in Louisa. Winter Coats, shoes, and other clothing has been provided to needy children.
A unique program by Louisa Rotarians features childrens books that are donated to the Children's Reading Room at the Louisa Library. Books are also donated to the Louisa Health Clinic for every new mother to read to her newborn.
